SEED Madagascar has performed a rapid pilot of insect farming at a household level. Selected for their short time to harvest and low maintenance, yields will provide short-term relief to food insecurity and potential for longer-term recovery through alternative livelihoods. Insect farming builds on Borgerson et al.’s pilot community rearing program in northeastern Madagascar.
