SEED has been working in the Sainte Luce area of southeast Madagascar for over 15 years, carrying out extensive research into this region of extreme biodiversity, and working with the local community on conservation initiatives. Current and future projects include long-term monitoring of three noturnal lemur species (Cheirogaleus thomasi; Avahi meridionalis; Microcebus tanosi), population analysis of Eulemur collaris, monitoring of shark species catch, assessment of threatened palm species, invertebrate and herp transects.
