Awelani Community Conservation Area (CCA) is a 1800ha area that has been set aside for conservation by the Mutele Community. The CCA is 15km from the the Kruger National Park border near Pafuri Gate  and falls within the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Conservation Area. The Vhembe District Municipality, Limpopo Department of Economic Development Environment and Tourism, South African National Parks, National Department of Environmental Affairs:Transfrontier Conservation Areas Directorate and the Mutele Community are the stakeholders involved in the planning, development and implementation of the project. The project entails the development of tourism infrastructure.
