Objectives:
1) To reduce poaching incidents in source countries by providing training to park rangers in safer and more effective counter-poaching techniques.
To train park rangers in counter-poaching techniques, including in (i) fieldcraft, (ii) long range patrolling, (iii) tracking, (iv) how to effectively use information and intelligence, (v) communications, (vi) first aid, (vii) arrest techniques, site forensics, (viii) conducting joint operations, (ix) professionalising adherence to procedure.
Additional training in junior leadership and intelligence gathering and management will also be delivered.
