Holding a master’s in science (MSc) in Rural Development and Natural Resources Management from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and a BSc in Wildlife Management from the Copperbelt University, Gilbert holds both academic depth and practical insight to conservation efforts. His current role as Landscape Integration Manager at the Frankfurt Zoological Society (FZS) involves aligning community needs with conservation priorities, leading implementation teams, and fostering long-term partnerships with local leaders and government stakeholders.
Previously, Gilbert served as Secretariat Technical Assistant at the Zambia Community Resources Board Association (ZCRBA), where he managed a USAID grant, improved internal systems, and strengthened community coordination. Notable achievements include building strong partnerships with traditional authorities and government officials in the North Luangwa region to promote sustainable resource management and enhancing governance and accountability within community resource boards, demonstrating a consistent commitment to inclusive and effective conservation solutions.
