Safari Defenders Initiative is a non-profit organization that partners with underfunded conservation areas across Africa to strengthen tourism systems that support financial resilience and sustainable community empowerment.

We believe that conservation areas can sustainably fund their operations and create lasting livelihood opportunities for local communities through carefully designed, competitive tourism models. We further believe that the success of such tourism models depends on co-creating scalable solutions with private sector partners who share a commitment to the purpose and long-term potential of conservation areas.

Working with a coalition of over 20 sustainable tourism businesses, we provide a comprehensive range of tourism-strengthening services, including marketing, product development, human resource capacity building, eco-accommodation design and management, ICT infrastructure, sustainability planning among others.
