Question Jaden Ramontsho is a climate policy practitioner and youth leader working at the forefront of global efforts to strengthen adaptation, resilience, and evidence-based decision making. As a research analyst with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) under the Nairobi Work Programme, Jaden collaborates with researchers, governments, and international organizations to expand access to high-quality knowledge on climate impacts and adaptation solutions. His work supports vulnerable communities including those in mountain regions, drylands, and flood-prone ecosystems by improving the availability of tools, methods, case studies, and data that guide climate-resilient development.
Jaden’s climate advocacy is grounded in lived experience from Botswana, where rising temperatures, seasonal flooding, and water insecurity shape the realities of communities and youth. This perspective fuels Jaden’s commitment to ensuring that climate policy is inclusive, locally informed, and responsive to the needs of those most affected.
Before joining the UNFCCC, Jaden served as a Deputy Project Lead for Partnerships at the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN Youth), leading global collaborations focused on sustainable development and climate action. He has represented young people at international forums, contributed to interdisciplinary climate research, and authored insights for think tanks such as the British Foreign Policy Group.
Jaden is also the Founder and Executive Director of the Common Code Foundation, a youth-driven initiative advancing digital skills for climate innovation across Botswana and the broader Commonwealth. Through partnerships with the International Telecommunication Union and the United Nations Development Programme, the foundation empowers young people to explore robotics, technology, and data-driven solutions for climate challenges.
A Mandela Washington Fellow and Aspire Leaders Program alum, Jaden has spent the past five years advancing climate adaptation, youth leadership, and sustainable development across Africa and beyond. They continue to champion climate-resilient futures through research, policy engagement, and community-centered innovation.
