Tebogo “Tebby” Modisagape is a visionary sustainability leader, Interior Architect, and ecosystem builder shaping the future of Botswana’s construction and built environment sector. She is the Founder and Director of Val Interiors (Pty) Ltd and serves as Chairperson of the Botswana Green Building Council (BotGBC), where she leads national advocacy for climate-smart, resource-efficient, and socially inclusive development. Botswana Green Building Council (BotGBC) is a national, non-profit organisation established in 2011 to transform Botswana’s built environment through sustainability, capacity building, research, policy engagement, and market transformation. We are a member of the World Green Building Council (WorldGBC), the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GlobalABC), and accredited under UNEP Civil Society, positioning us within leading global networks for climate action and resilient, net-zero buildings.
Endorsed by key Government Ministries, BotGBC plays a central role in technical working groups on building codes, standards, energy efficiency, and green growth. Our mission includes:
• Developing national green building frameworks and performance tools
• Training and accrediting local professionals and youth
• Supporting certification through our MoU with Sintali (IFC EDGE Certifier)
• Advancing green finance via partnership with the First National Bank (FNB)
• Supporting academic curriculum transformation
• Facilitating adoption of sustainable construction practices across industry
