The development of a video and media library to promote the new Via Ferrata at Witsieshoek Lodge is a strategic initiative aimed at boosting adventure tourism in the Maloti Drakensberg Transfrontier Conservation Area. This project is supported by various stakeholders, including the Joint Action NaturAfrica / C-NRM Programme through Boundless Southern Africa.

The Via Ferrata, known as the Dragon’s Tale, offers a unique climbing experience on Sentinel Peak, combining safety with the thrill of traversing steep, rugged terrain. The media library will feature high-quality videos and images showcasing the breathtaking landscapes, the technical aspects of the climb, and the overall adventure experience. This visual content aims to attract adventure seekers and nature lovers, highlighting the region’s natural beauty and promoting sustainable tourism.

By leveraging digital media, the initiative seeks to increase visibility and interest in the Via Ferrata, ultimately contributing to the local economy and conservation efforts. The project underscores the importance of sustainable tourism practices, ensuring that the natural environment is preserved while providing exciting new opportunities for visitors.
