CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: 2026 Seeds of Cinema Programme

Seeds of Cinema is a youth leadership programme by Sunshine Cinema, supported by German Government and the European Union in Botswana and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in the SADC Transfrontier Conservation Areas (TFCAs) in collaboration with National Geographic Society and Disney Africa.
We are looking for young leaders passionate about film, conservation, and social change to train as Film Impact Facilitators. Participants will use solar-powered mobile cinemas and African films to host community screenings and spark conversations about climate, conservation, and social justice.
Programme highlights:
• April 2026 – March 2027
• Training + monthly stipend
• Work in Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area - KAZA TFCA and Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park (KTP) regions.
• 6-month online course with UCT’s Centre for Film & Media Studies
Note: This is not a film production course - it trains young people to use film as a tool for education, dialogue, and community action.
Eligibility
• Ages 21–34
• Living in KAZA TFCA or KTP regions (rural/peri-urban)
• Not currently in full-time work or study
• Passion for media, conservation, and activism
