We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Game Ranger to join a lodge within the pristine Mjejane Private Game Reserve—part of the Greater Kruger National Park ecosystem. As a Game Ranger, you will serve as a vital ambassador of the natural world, guiding guests on immersive wildlife safaris while ensuring their safety, comfort, and deep connection to the wilderness. This role demands a blend of expert field knowledge, exceptional storytelling, and unwavering commitment to conservation and sustainable tourism. You will play a pivotal role in delivering world-class guest experiences through educational interpretation, responsible wildlife viewing, and active participation in conservation initiatives. The ideal candidate is a certified FGASA Field Guide with PDP accreditation, experienced in live-in safari operations, and equipped with first aid training and a genuine love for the African bush.
Conduct daily game drives and bush walks, delivering safe, engaging, and educational experiences through expert interpretation and storytelling.
Ensure guest safety at all times by adhering to strict safety protocols, monitoring environmental conditions, and maintaining emergency preparedness.
Utilize advanced tracking and navigation skills to identify animal signs, enhance safari authenticity, and enrich guest understanding of wildlife behaviour.
Provide comprehensive interpretation of local wildlife, flora, ecosystems, and conservation efforts to guests of diverse backgrounds.
Maintain and inspect all safari vehicles and equipment, ensuring full operational readiness and compliance with safety standards.
Collaborate with lodge operations and hospitality teams to coordinate guest itineraries, manage expectations, and ensure seamless service delivery.
Apply first aid and emergency response protocols promptly and effectively in any on-site incident.
Support conservation goals through data collection, habitat monitoring, and participation in community-based environmental programs.
Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, environmental ethics, cultural sensitivity, and sustainable tourism practices.
