Positioning and reporting
Under the authority of the Director General of WOAH, the supervision of the East Africa Regional Representative, and the functional management of the Project Manager, in close collaboration with the ZOOSURSY project coordination team and the relevant teams at WOAH headquarters and in the Africa region.
Job purpose
The Technical Coordinator participates in the implementation of ZOOSURSY project activities in the target countries of his/her intervention zone. He/she develops, coordinates and supervises the implementation of activities in collaboration with the project management team, provides technical support to the project implementation teams, including scientific teams and Veterinary Services, coordinates internal and external players and develops commitment and synergies in particular with the Veterinary Services of the countries targeted by the project.
Missions and activities Ensure the overall technical implementation of the ZOOSURSY project in target countries within his/her intervention area.
Work closely with the project team to support and facilitate the implementation of all initiatives, activities and actions developed as part of the project;
Develop, plan, facilitate, implement and monitor the implementation of project activities and deliverables, in collaboration with WOAH headquarters teams and external partners, including the Veterinary Services;
Contribute to the development of a detailed project workplan to monitor and track progress:
Identify risks, and analyse, manage and propose mitigation measures to ensure timely delivery of the project;
Support the implementation of a programme M&E framework, performance metrics and capture information to track programme performance;
Work with the Project Communications Officer to develop and implement a communication plan;
Work with the Project Scientific advisor to facilitate contacts with the technical Services in countriesInitiate, engage and facilitate exchanges and information sharing between all partners/experts and stakeholders involved in the project;
Support partners in the implementation of activities involving national veterinary services;In collaboration with the WOAH headquarters teams, draft periodic reports for donors;
To contribute to the drafting of relevant documents and information articles for publications and communications and for the project website, in collaboration with the Project Communications Officer;
Coordinate the implementation of the activities sub-awarded, outsourced or delegated to partners throughout the project, including experts, Reference Laboratories, Collaborating Centres, and external suppliers.
Provide technical support in its area of expertise to the Africa Regional Representation
To represent WOAH, support the Regional Representation to which he/she reports to, provide technical support and take part in international meetings or service missions relevant to the project’s themes.
